Arriving just after opening time we headed straight for the Carnivore&#8217;s Trail, catching the lions still having a yawn:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.matthewovens.photography\/gallery\/_data\/i\/upload\/2018\/04\/29\/20180429194441-16babbc1-me.jpg\" alt=\"Yawning Lion\"><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Whilst the nearby chameleon gave us a good look over<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.matthewovens.photography\/gallery\/_data\/i\/upload\/2018\/04\/29\/20180429194634-2b211083-me.jpg\" alt=\"Chameleon\"><\/p>\n<p>The Coatis, meanwhile, were enjoying a hearty breakfast<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.matthewovens.photography\/gallery\/_data\/i\/upload\/2018\/04\/29\/20180429194754-72275d84-me.jpg\" alt=\"Coati eating corn cob\"><\/p>\n<p>Miska, on the other hand, was preparing for a daytime nap in the morning sunshine. Only a few months ago she was reluctant to come out of her den during the day, but now she seems confident and acclimatised enough to enjoy her habitat even during the daytime.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.matthewovens.photography\/gallery\/_data\/i\/upload\/2018\/04\/29\/20180429194850-4351a742-me.jpg\" alt=\"Snow Leopard Miska\"><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.matthewovens.photography\/gallery\/_data\/i\/upload\/2018\/04\/29\/20180429195111-22ce363a-me.jpg\" alt=\"Snow Leopard Miska\"><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.matthewovens.photography\/gallery\/_data\/i\/upload\/2018\/04\/29\/20180429195214-73807e3e-me.jpg\" alt=\"Snow Leopard Miska\"><\/p>\n<p>Sundah, on the other hand, was still a mystery to us as we hadn&#8217;t yet seen her on the Carnivore&#8217;s Trail. This canny individual had actually previously caught a duck that was a little too slow in getting out of his habitat. Whilst they are the face of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zoo.org.au\/get-involved\/act-for-wildlife\/dont-palm-us-off\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">&quot;Don&#8217;t Palm Us Off&quot;<\/a> campaign, it is not only Orangutans that are threatened by unsustainable palm oil production, but also tigers, rhinos and elephants. You can help by adding your voice to the call for <strong>mandatory<\/strong> labelling of palm oil on products.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.matthewovens.photography\/gallery\/_data\/i\/upload\/2018\/04\/29\/20180429202024-8d873433-me.jpg\" alt=\"Orangutan\"><\/p>\n<p>Next stop was to visit Lemur Island and catch up with the boys who we&#8217;d had a close encounter back in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.matthewovens.photography\/zoo-visits\/melbourne-zoo\/a-trip-to-melbourne-zoo-9-january-2018\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">January<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.matthewovens.photography\/zoo-visits\/melbourne-zoo\/a-trip-to-melbourne-zoo-4-feb-2018\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">February<\/a>. Whilst the lemurs were having fun, the water dragons who had made themselves at home in Lemur Island also had babies running around.
